B6-2 Engines

The Estes B6-2 is a standard single-stage model rocket engine engineered for reliable, repeatable flight performance. Delivering a total impulse of 5.00 N-sec and a peak thrust of 12.10 newtons (2.7 lbs), this 18 mm diameter engine provides a strong boost phase, making it ideal for rockets with a maximum lift weight of 4.5 ounces (127 g). The 2-second delay allows for a controlled coast phase before activating the ejection charge, helping ensure stable recovery deployment and consistent flight profiles. With a thrust duration of 0.80 seconds, the B6-2 supplies a quick and powerful liftoff that suits rockets designed for lower altitude flights or those requiring early deployment. This engine is an excellent match for kits where a shorter delay improves flight stability and recovery system timing. Whether used for test flights or routine launches, the B6-2 delivers the dependable thrust curve that hobbyists expect from Estes engines. Each engine pack includes three B6-2 engines, four starters, and four starter plugs, providing a complete solution for multiple launch setups. The included starters ensure reliable ignition, while the plugs secure the starters in place for optimal performance. This all-in-one package is ideal for rocketeers who want everything ready for their next launch without needing additional components. Backed by Estes’ legacy of quality and precision manufacturing, the B6-2 engine is trusted for its balanced performance characteristics. Its combination of quick thrust, short delay, and proven reliability makes it a go-to choice for hobbyists seeking consistent results flight after flight.
