B38 Main Bearings

The BMW B38 three-cylinder turbo engine is compact and efficient, but like many modern BMW engines, it is vulnerable to main bearing wear and failure under stress. The 5150 AutoSport High-Performance Main Bearing Set is designed specifically for the B38 platform to deliver the strength, reliability, and durability OEM bearings can’t match. Each bearing is treated with a Calico dry-film anti-friction coating, proven to reduce drag, improve lubrication, and resist wear. This coating also provides thermal resistance, helping protect your B38 against one of the most common causes of engine failure: oil starvation and low-pressure events. Why Upgrade to 5150 B38 Main Bearings? Calico-coated for reduced friction and increased service life Thermal-resistant to withstand high-boost, tuned, and racing conditions Protects against bearing failure under oil starvation Proven performance in street builds and track applications Long-term durability trusted by BMW and MINI enthusiasts worldwide Whether your B38 powers a BMW i8, 118i, 218i, or MINI Cooper, these main bearings are engineered to keep your build running reliably—even in high-boost or high-RPM environments. For street, track, or daily use, they are a crucial safeguard against failure. Tech Notes: Always verify bearing size and clearances before installation. Professional installation is strongly recommended. No returns on engine bearings.
