Bosch HDGPB6 AutoStart Pilot Bit Retractable Carbide Tip for Diamond Hole Saws 3/4 to 4-1/8 Inch Porcelain and Granite

ELIMINATE BIT WALKING ON HARD TILE AND STONE SURFACES Achieve precise, clean starts every time with the Bosch HDGPB6 AutoStart™ Pilot Bit. Drilling into hard, smooth surfaces like porcelain, granite, and marble often results in the bit "skating" or wandering across the tile, potentially ruining expensive materials. This innovative accessory solves that problem with a spring-loaded, retractable center shaft. The carbide tip grinds a shallow starting groove into the material, creating a stabilizer track for your diamond hole saw. Once the cut is established, the spring-loaded pin automatically retracts into the mandrel, allowing the diamond grit to cut freely without the resistance of a traditional pilot bit. Engineered for professional durability, the HDGPB6 is constructed from hardened steel and features a 1/4-inch hex shank for a secure, slip-free grip in your drill. It is designed to snap effortlessly into Bosch Quick Change™ mandrels (models PCM38, PCM12, and PCMDSPL) and fits diamond hole saws ranging from 3/4 inch to 4-1/8 inches in diameter. Whether you are installing bathroom fixtures in glass tile or drilling granite countertops, this pilot bit ensures your hole saw stays exactly where you want it for a flawless finish. Its job is simply to scratch a divot on the surface to keep the hole saw steady. Apply firm pressure to start the grind; once the diamond hole saw engages with the tile, the pilot bit will retract out of the way automatically.
