Generally, you'll see that stress vitamins are B-Complex vitamins. Well, your horse has the increased demand for B-Complex vitamins during times of stress. The B-Complex vitamins are all water soluble vitamins which would include Thiamin (B1), Riboflavin (B2), Niacin, Pantothenic Acid, Pyridoxine (B6), Biotin, Folacin, and Vitamin B12. Water soluble vitamins differ from fat soluble vitamins (vitamin A, D3, E, and K) in that they are not stored in the body. Water soluble vitamins need to be consumed on a daily basis. When all is well, many horses get the B-Vitamins they need from adequate amounts of high quality forages. When a horse is under stress, things are a bit different. Under stress, it appears that B-Complex vitamins are "flushed" from the system. For this reason, it is important that a high quality source of B-complex vitamins be fed during times of stress--travel, performance. You know exactly what introduces stress into your horse's routine. She is still alert when things are going on but is a lot less concerned about them and less spooky. We have even been able to ride at the scary end of our outdoor ring! What's even better is we are now able to do a walk warmup where she stretches down into the bridle rather than walking with her head up and her neck tense. So B-Plex seems to have solved the hot horse problem. Thanks again for your help. Carole" "I very rarely write regarding a product but had to write about B-Plex. I bought it a few months ago when I moved my Morgan mare back home. My mare is a typical mare -- pinning her ears and snaking out trying to bite if you go by her stall, and kicking. After a month of B-Plex, her attitude changed very drastically-in a good way. She wanted to be rubbed and be around people, even nuzzling at her stall door. I had the vet out and asked him what I should do about my "bitchy" mare. As he was talking to me, Belle, my mare, was nuzzling his neck and licking his ear. He told me to keep doing what I am doing as that is the sweetest "bitchy" mare he has ever come across. I assumed her disposition was from the move back home and that she was happier, until I ran out of B-Plex. Then the "old" mare came out in her!! I quickly ordered it, promising never to run out again. I can't believe this product has had such a fantastic effect on her. I am not the only one that has noticed it, others have commented on how she has "grown out of" her attitude, and "how happy she is to be home" until I tell them the truth. It is a great product that I will never be out of and give to all my horses.
