Axiom Plasma Prism Pyro

The Axiom Plasma Prism Pyro is an overstable midrange, one of the beefiest mid range discs Axiom makes, cast in the sparkly Prism overmold that puts a Plasma core under a gummy, glittered rim. Flight Numbers: 5 / 4 / 0 / 2.5 Prism Plasma runs a little different in the hand than a straight Plasma or Neutron Pyro. The gummy rim band grips hard even in bad weather, while the glittered core stays translucent and shows off in the light. It takes some getting used to feeling two different textures in one grip, but that hard rim is exactly what makes this disc so torque resistant on a hard forehand. Thrown at full power this disc barely turns, if at all, which is unusual for a five speed. It has a flat top and a shallow rim, so it goes where it is aimed and finishes with a diving fade rather than a slow fade out. That makes it a technical forehand disc for shots under 200 feet, and a dependable anhyzer turnover disc when the wind is up and you need something that will not flip. Intermediate players use it as the midrange that never surprises them; bigger arms use it as an overstable placement disc they can rely on in any weather. Want the same flight without the sparkle? The Proton Prism Pyro is a firmer version of the same rim band. Prefer Axiom's grippiest everyday plastic? The Neutron Prism Pyro is worth a look. See every plastic in the Pyro collection. Speed 5, glide 4, turn 0, fade 2.5. Diameter 21.5 cm, rim width 1.6 cm, max weight 178 g.
