Ax Lounge Chair

The &Tradition Ax Lounge Chair is a masterclass in form and function. Originally designed by Hvidt & Mølgaard, it showcases the innovation that defined mid-century Danish design. This chair was among the first to use 3D-shaped plywood—a breakthrough at the time. The armrests flow into the frame in a seamless curve. This detail speaks to the designers' background in Danish cabinetry. Their attention to craftsmanship and structure is evident in every line of the chair. The &Tradition Ax Lounge Chair is not only beautiful but also engineered for comfort. Its ergonomic design supports the body in a natural, relaxed position. Few wooden chairs offer this level of ease. The seat and backrest cradle the sitter, creating a lounge experience that feels both light and grounded. Available in two elegant combinations—Lacquered Oak and Walnut or Dark Stained Oak and Walnut—the Ax Lounge Chair brings warmth and sophistication to any space. It works equally well in a modern living room or a classic reading nook. Timeless yet forward-thinking, the Ax Lounge Chair is a testament to what thoughtful design can achieve. It’s a statement piece that prioritizes both style and comfort, built to last for generations.
