Please Help Avery's Fight Bring Normalcy, Confidence & "Brave Gowns " To Nemours Children's Hospital

Help Avery Bring Normalcy & Confidence To Other Tween/Teen Patients at Alfred I duPont Nemours Children's Hospital "It’s true what they say. It only takes one second for your entire life to change. Everything is different. Uncertainty is the new normal. The day our six-year-old daughter was diagnosed with Homozygous Familial Hypercholesterolemia, a rare disease that can lead to heart disease, even in childhood, was a day of shock and unimaginable sadness. All of our lives changed in that moment. We immediately began wondering how much time we would have with her. Would we see her graduate from high school? Get married? Have children of her own? Could she even have children? Our daughter’s life also completely changed that day in ways we may never even know. The child diagnosed with a rare disease will face changes in her life that you will only find out as the days and years go on. A large portion of her life is now spent at a hospital three hours away for doctors appointments, tests, surgery to have a permanent port-a-cath put in her chest (which she’s very self-conscious about) and long apheresis treatments every week. She misses many days of school and dance each year. She misses countless parties and fun activities with friends."-Michelle, Avery's Mom  The one thing that helped Avery feel confident, have a little control and power back were her Brave Gowns. Avery has not only provided input for the inspirational teen line for Brave Gowns, but she has also created her own design. Avery wants continue to not only design gowns for the group that is so often unintentionally missed in children's hospitals, but also provide them with the gowns!  Please help us provide tweens and teens with a Brave Gown that is not only bright and uplifting, but will be personally designed by Avery. These gowns provide a bit of normalcy, dignity and courage at a time the patients need it most! The emotional support that Brave Gowns provide is not only beneficial to the patient, but also to the caregivers, little siblings and hospital staff. Having to wear an old, uncomfortable hospital gown makes the experience even worse. Brave Gowns are a variety of bright, fun, lively designs to suit every child's personality. No more dingy, lifeless pastel gowns that look and feel as if they have been washed numerous times. Brave Gowns transform the spirit of a child and allow them to travel using their imaginations, wherever their hearts desire! We are so enthusiastic about our gowns because they are not your standard hospital gowns! Brave Gowns have gone through extensive Clinical Pilots in the children's hospital network and were created with the input of a transplant team at Lurie's Children's Hospital. Not only do they have fun prints that cover the entire front like costumes; they are made out of an amazingly soft fabric that resembles your soft, favorite t-shirt, or nightgown! They have IV access on both sleeves, access to chest ports and heart monitors. No more having to worry about a draft or the back opening. While the gowns are softer then you can even imagine, they meet all hospital standards and hold up to industrial washings competing with gowns being offered currently.  Brave Gown is a high-quality gown, that helps eliminate infections in chest port and makes it easier to access every part of a patient's body!  WHEN ORDERING FROM THIS CAMPAIGN, IF YOU CHECKOUT DIRECTLY THROUGH THE WEBSITE, YOU WON'T BE ASKED FOR A SHIPPING ADDRESS.
