Avant Collection L Strap by Simpson Strong-Tie

The APVL L Strap Tie is a go-to solution when an outdoor wood connection needs real structural reinforcement without sacrificing visual appeal. Designed by Simpson Strong-Tie as part of the Outdoor Accents Avant Collection, this L-shaped connector strengthens 90-degree joints while adding a clean, architectural accent to exposed framing. Built from heavy-duty 12-gauge steel, the APVL provides dependable strength at critical corners in pergolas, pavilions, decks, and patio structures. Its ZMAX galvanized base with a black powder-coat finish delivers excellent corrosion resistance, making it ideal for exterior use and compatible with pressure-treated lumber. Unlike standard hidden connectors, the APVL is meant to be seen. The flat profile, straight edges, and chamfered corners create a modern, intentional look that enhances both contemporary and traditional designs.
