Avalon Permit Fly

The Avalon Permit Fly has quickly risen in popularity as a go-to permit fly all around the globe.  Unusual in appearance, the Avalon Permit Fly has a monofilament "keel" on the bottom with brass beads on it that slide and move.  The idea of the weighted keel was to ensure that the fly always rides properly through the water with the hook point up.  The free-moving beads also create a clacking sound that may be important to the effectiveness of the fly, like the sound of a fleeing shrimp or crab.  If you're fishing for permit in Cuba, Bahamas, Mexico or Belize, make sure to have the Avalon Permit Fly in your permit box!
