Avalanche Pea Seeds

The Avalanche Pea, originating from Europe, is a notable cultivar appreciated for its exceptional flavor and productivity. This cultivar doesn't have distinct subspecies but is highly regarded for its reliability and consistent yield. Characterized by its compact growth habit, this pea plant exhibits a bushy appearance adorned with lush, deep green foliage, presenting a visually appealing addition to any garden. The vibrant leaves signal the imminent development of pea pods. The pods of the Avalanche Pea encase tender, succulent peas with a delicate sweetness. These peas offer a pleasing texture and a mildly sweet taste, perfect for fresh consumption, salads, or light cooking, infusing dishes with freshness and flavor. For successful growth, the Avalanche Pea thrives in well-drained, fertile soil enriched with organic matter. Sow the seeds directly into the ground when the soil temperature reaches about 45-75°F (7-24°C) for optimal germination. Consistent watering during germination and early growth stages is vital for robust plant development. Employing a trellis or support structure aids in the plant's growth, allowing it to flourish and produce peas more effectively. This variety prefers full sun exposure but can tolerate partial shade, adapting to various garden settings. With a rapid growth cycle, the Avalanche Pea typically reaches maturity within 55-60 days, providing a reliable and generous harvest of flavorful, tender peas. Its taste, productivity, and adaptability make it a favored choice among gardeners seeking a steady supply of delicious peas.
