Ava Isa Sun-è-Serum Drops SPF 35

Featherweight, transparent sunscreen with a demi-matte finish / 1 oz Ava Isa Sun-e-Serum Drops SPF 35 is a delightfully silky formula that has been featured in breathless “best of” lists from Allure to Harper’s Bazaar. And for good reason: Sun-e-Serum genuinely feels like a serum — not like the thick, pasty sunscreens of decades past — with a “how is this possible?” texture that absorbs instantly. Re: the “how is this possible?” question, the answer is twofold. First, Ava Isa is made by The Sunscreen Company, a Canadian company that has formulated sunscreens since 1995. This team has many years of experience working with zinc — and finding ways to work it into formulas that act almost like a camouflage for this notoriously tricky ingredient, allowing it to blend more easily and transparently over the skin. Secondly, the formula omits the thickeners that are typically found in sunscreens, which not only gives it a uniquely thin texture, but also makes it apply more easily and more transparently across skin tones. (The lack of thickeners means that you need to shake the bottle before each use, but who doesn’t mind shaking their sunscreen if it makes this dreamy texture and finish possible?)  What Ava Isa Sun-e-Serum does contain are 25% non-nano zinc oxide and an antioxidant called Micah (not mica), which has been clinically proven to reduce the negative effects of blue light on the skin.  This is the sunscreen that many members of our team are reaching for these days, especially those with balanced to oily skin types; it gives skin a nearly poreless, breathable, demi-matte finish with soft luminescence (which makes it an excellent primer for makeup, too). We predict this will be a year-round top seller since it makes wearing sunscreen so easy and, dare we say, delightful.
