AudioQuest Dragon High (Variable) Current Power Cable

Optimized for use with AC power conditioners/regenerators, power amplifiers, and any components that contain a built-in power amplifier (including AV receivers, powered speakers, and powered subwoofers), AudioQuest’s Dragon High-Current AC cable is the ultimate choice for audiophiles, home theater enthusiasts, and audio/video professionals seeking to enjoy the highest possible performance from their systems.  With AudioQuest’s Dragon delivering uncompressed current, you’ll experience cleaner, clearer, more naturally beautiful and thrilling sound.  Available with C13 and C19 connectors, Dragon is the undisputed top model of AudioQuest’s flagship Storm Series—the very best the company presently offers.  While AudioQuest always considers value, aiming to minimize unnecessary expenses for its customers while acknowledging that absolute sonic perfection may never be possible, few compromises have been made in Dragon’s development.   Dragon incorporates the two crucial AudioQuest design features that allow the Storm Series models to dramatically outperform all previous AudioQuest AC cables: ZERO-Tech for uncompressed current transfer and RF/ND-Tech, which minimizes circuit misbehavior by cancelling induced RF noise.  Of course, tried-and-true AudioQuest technologies are also present in the Storm Series. Dragon features a thoughtfully finessed combination of AudioQuest’s Solid Perfect-Surface Copper+ and Perfect-Surface Silver conductors that have been carefully controlled for directionality to drain RF noise away from where it would cause the most harm. AudioQuest’s patented 72v Dielectric-Bias System further reduces radio-frequency noise.  Dragon also features AudioQuest’s best AC plugs, comprising Hanging-Silver over Red and Beryllium Coppers, for lower distortion and improved dissipation of high-frequency noise. Clean power is the foundation to any great audio/video entertainment experience. Treat yours to the ultimate—AudioQuest Dragon.  Solid Perfect-Surface Silver & Solid-Perfect Surface Copper+ Conductors: Solid conductors prevent electrical strand-to-strand interaction, major sources of distortion. Surface quality is critical because a conductor can be considered as a rail-guide for both the fields within a conductor, and for the magnetic fields that extend outside the conductor. The astonishingly smooth and pure PSC+ eliminates harshness and greatly increases clarity. High-purity PSS further minimizes distortion. ZERO-Tech: While many AC power cables feature low DC resistance in order to accommodate the demand for high current, a cable’s characteristic impedance is also crucial for optimal performance. Unlike most AC cables that constrict or compress an audio-provoked transient, AudioQuest AC cables combine low DC resistance and ZERO (no) characteristic impedance in order to deliver uncompressed high-current transients on demand. RF/ND-Tech: Greatly reduces the distortion caused by induced RF noise, yielding unprecedented levels of noise dissipation across the widest bandwidth (range) of radio frequencies possible. AudioQuest's unique circuit topology uses a common-mode phase-cancelling array, in concert with proprietary dielectric materials which provide additional differential linear filtering. 72v Dielectric-Bias System: AudioQuest’s patented DBS creates an electrostatic field that molecularly optimizes the cable’s insulation (dielectric). This minimizes distortion by increasing the dielectric’s efficiency at high frequency, resulting in clearer sound emerging from a “blacker” background. The inclusion of an RF Trap (a proprietary technology developed for AudioQuest’s Niagara Series of power products), further reduces induced radio-frequency noise. Uncompressed High Current Transfer: With current capacity of 20 amps, Dragon High Current can withstand current transient peaks many times its continuous RMS rating. This makes Dragon Current ideally suited for a wide assortment of AC power conditioners, power regenerators, AC isolation transformers, and AC battery back-up devices, as well as any power amplifier, powered subwoofer, powered loudspeaker, powered receiver, or integrated amplifier. Solid 100% Perfect-Surface Silver RF-Drain Metal: Direction-controlled 100% PSS RF Drains maximize the dissipation of RF noise from the line and neutral shields to ground via the third "ground" pin. The net result is powerful, dynamic, and immersive. Hanging-Silver over Red and Beryllium Copper Plugs: AudioQuest’s best AC plugs enable even lower distortion and better dissipation of high-frequency noise. Directionality: All drawn metal strands or conductors have a non-symmetrical, and therefore directional, grain structure. AudioQuest controls the resulting RF impedance variation so that noise is drained away from where it will cause distortion. A fundamental aspect of AudioQuest’s multifaceted Noise-Dissipation technology, Direction-Controlled Conductors ensure induced noise is dissipated and drained properly.
