Audio Technica R70X Professional Reference Open Back Headphones

Audio Technica Professional Reference Open Back Headphones The ATH-R70xa is Audio-Technica’s premier open-back reference headphone, building on the legacy of the ATH-R70x with enhanced precision and detail. Retaining the natural and balanced sound of its predecessor, this refined model offers improved accuracy, delivering a more immersive listening experience with precise imaging and depth. As a fully open-back design, the ATH-R70xa relies entirely on the driver’s performance, with each diaphragm movement translating directly into sound—free from reliance on acoustic cavities or resonance for frequency shaping. While the ATH-R70x incorporated damping and acoustic design to emphasize low frequencies, the ATH-R70xa delivers uncolored, distortion-free audio straight from the transducer, ensuring a truly open-back experience with natural sound and realistic spatial imaging. Designed for critical listening, these headphones empower engineers to make informed decisions throughout the production process. With an extended frequency range, every nuance of a mix is transparently reproduced. The unrestricted airflow and resonance-free design provide lightning-fast transient response, delivering the clarity and separation needed for today’s complex mixes. Weighing just 199 g (without the cable), the ATH-R70xa features an ultra-light, streamlined construction and a newly designed headband, ensuring maximum comfort for extended sessions. Handcrafted at our Machida facility, each unit is meticulously assembled from in-house components and rigorously tested to meet the highest standards. Whether mixing, mastering, or creating, the ATH-R70xa delivers accurate and reliable reference across stereo, surround, and immersive formats—making it an essential tool for audio professionals. Professional open-back reference headphones provide the perfect balance of accuracy, transparency, and comfort for discerning engineers, producers, and musicians. Fully open-back design allows unrestricted airflow, eliminating internal resonance and enabling an extremely quick transient response. Carbon composite resin construction enhances structural rigidity, ensuring detailed transient response. Extended frequency response (5 – 40,000 Hz) delivers transparent and highly detailed sound reproduction. Japanese craftsmanship: Each pair is meticulously assembled from in-house components and rigorously tested before leaving our Tokyo factory. Featherlight (199 g) design features streamlined, metal-reinforced construction, a reimagined headband, and replaceable velour earpads for unmatched comfort during long sessions. Unique dual-sided 3.0 m (9.8') detachable locking cable is L/R signal independent to ensure proper stereo orientation. Includes a 6.3 mm (1/4") adapter and a carrying pouch.
