Q&A Section Q: What is VTA and why does it matter? A: VTA (Vertical Tracking Angle) is the angle between the stylus and the record surface. Proper VTA alignment ensures accurate tracking, balanced sound, and prevents uneven stylus wear. Q: How does this tool help with azimuth alignment? A: It provides a visual reference so you can align the stylus vertically in the groove, ensuring balanced stereo output and reduced distortion. Q: Is this tool compatible with all turntables? A: It works with most turntables that allow tonearm height or azimuth adjustments. Check your model for these capabilities. Q: Can this help with 180-gram vinyl setup? A: Yes, it helps adjust tonearm height to accommodate thicker records, which can slightly alter tracking geometry. Q: Is it difficult to use? A: Not at all—just place it near the cartridge and visually align the stylus using the etched grid as a guide. Q: Will this improve my sound quality? A: Proper alignment significantly improves stereo imaging, clarity, and reduces groove wear, leading to better overall sound. Q: What is it made of? A: It’s made of high-quality, clear acrylic with etched lines for precise, easy-to-read measurements. Q: Do I need to use it every time I change a record? A: No, but it's useful whenever you switch to a different thickness of vinyl or install a new cartridge.
