Attic Universe

In Andrius Miezis’s Attic Universe, the cosmos is reimagined as a cluttered attic of the subconscious - a surreal archive where memories, dreams, and absurdities coexist in chaotic harmony. Forms twist and interlock: animal fragments, mechanical mouths, pastel smoke, and dripping rainbows all orbit a gravitational core of imagination. The work feels simultaneously expansive and confined - infinite space compressed into a domestic setting. Like a mind overwhelmed by its own contents, the composition teems with visual noise, yet each object carries its own emotional charge. The phrase “Home Sweet Home” scrawled within the chaos anchors the scene in irony, suggesting that our inner universes, however wild, are still deeply personal and familiar. With his distinct precision and humor, Miezis constructs a cosmology of the everyday - one where the attic of memory becomes the galaxy of the self, and disorder reveals its own strange order.
