Designed around the concept of a true “One Surface Strategy,” Velaris has the capability to replace multiple mattress types across a facility or homecare environment, simplifying inventory while elevating the standard of care. It is a solution built not only for performance, but for efficiency — reducing the need for frequent surface changes and minimizing patient disruption during transitions in acuity. At its core, Velaris is about adaptability. With its integrated design, the surface seamlessly shifts between high-performance reactive therapy and active alternating pressure therapy depending on the patient’s needs. When connected to the pump, the mattress transforms into a dynamic alternating pressure system powered by AltoVac technology, delivering true full pressure offloading to support the prevention and treatment of pressure injuries. This active mode creates a rhythmic redistribution of load across the body, promoting circulation, reducing tissue deformation, and helping clinicians manage even higher-risk patients with confidence. When the pump is not attached, the Velaris continues to perform as a highly effective reactive support surface through its innovative ARM (Air Redistribution Module). Inside each air cell, pressure automatically adjusts and equalizes, maintaining consistent immersion and envelopment while protecting vulnerable anatomical areas. This means the patient remains supported on a comfortable, pressure-redistributing surface without the noise or movement of a powered system — ideal for lower-risk individuals, step-down care, or environments where simplicity and quiet operation are preferred. This dual-function design makes Velaris uniquely suited for a wide spectrum of care settings, from acute care and long-term care facilities to rehabilitation environments and homecare programs. Clinicians can respond to changing patient conditions without performing a full mattress replacement, reducing manual handling, saving time, and supporting safer workflows for staff. For providers and purchasing teams, the result is a more cost-effective support surface strategy that streamlines logistics while maintaining premium clinical outcomes. Beyond its therapeutic performance, Velaris is engineered for everyday usability. The surface is intuitive to set up, simple to operate, and designed to integrate smoothly into existing bed frames and care protocols. Its construction promotes durability and long-term reliability, while the carefully designed air cell architecture enhances patient stability and comfort — a critical factor in compliance and overall satisfaction. In practice, the AtmosAir Velaris becomes more than a mattress system; it becomes a responsive care platform that evolves with the patient. It supports early intervention, accommodates increasing risk levels, and then transitions back to a reactive surface as conditions improve — all without requiring a disruptive surface change. This continuity helps maintain patient dignity, improves workflow efficiency, and reinforces consistent clinical support throughout the healing process. For facilities pursuing operational efficiency, for clinicians focused on prevention and treatment, and for caregivers seeking a dependable, easy-to-manage therapeutic surface, the AtmosAir Velaris delivers a rare combination of flexibility, advanced technology, and economic value. It is a modern, intelligent approach to pressure injury management — one surface that adapts, responds, and performs at every stage of care.
