Athlon Optics Midas M3 3x Magnifier

Adding magnification behind a red dot is the fastest way to stretch an AR's effective range without changing your zero or swapping optics. The Athlon Midas M3 is a 3x flip-to-side magnifier that gives you enough power to make confident hits at 200 yards while keeping the weight and eye box forgiving enough for fast transitions. At 10.5 oz and just 2.9 inches, it's one of the most compact options in the category — barely longer than the red dot it sits behind. The 3x magnification is the most popular choice for a reason: it triples your red dot's effective precision range without the tighter eye relief and heavier weight that come with 5x and 6x magnifiers. The M3's 2.7-inch eye relief and 38.3 ft field of view at 100 yards keep target acquisition fast and natural. Athlon built it around fully multi-coated optics in a nitrogen-purged, aircraft-grade aluminum chassis that's waterproof, fog-proof, and shockproof. Key Features 3x magnification — the practical sweet spot for extending red dot range to 200+ yards without sacrificing speed or eye box comfort Fully multi-coated lenses — maximizes light transmission for a bright, true-color image across the full spectrum Flip-to-side mount — quick-release lever system for instant transition between magnified and unmagnified shooting Aircraft-grade aluminum, one-piece chassis — nitrogen purged for fog-proof and waterproof performance in any conditions 2.7" eye relief with 38.3 ft FOV — generous enough for fast target acquisition without precise head positioning Fast focus ring — dial in a sharp reticle image through the eyepiece to match your vision Windage and elevation adjustments — recessed turrets center the red dot in the magnifier's field of view after mounting Ideal For AR-15 owners who want magnification on demand without the weight and complexity of an LPVO — mount it, flip it aside when you don't need it, and keep your red dot as the primary sight. Home defense and competition shooters who need to cover distances from room-length to 200 yards with a single optic setup and zero transition time. Hunters working mixed terrain — timber to open clearings — where a red dot handles close encounters and 3x gets you the target ID and precision for shots across a food plot or meadow. Compatibility Mounts to any standard picatinny rail. Position directly behind your red dot or prism scope with spacing for the 2.7" eye relief. The 3x magnification is forgiving with larger dot sizes (2-4 MOA) — dots stay crisp and usable at this power level.
