Athénaïs by Parfums de Marly

THE FEMININE ENERGY THAT FASCINATES AS MUCH AS IT LIBERATES Françoise-Athénaïs de Rochechouart, Marquise de Montespan. The most celebrated mistress of King Louis XIV — brilliant, bold, captivating, and unapologetically herself. She moved through the court of Versailles with a fearless femininity that fascinated as much as it unsettled. A woman who understood that true power lies not in conforming, but in becoming fully, completely, magnificently who you are. Athénaïs by Parfums de Marly is her fragrance. Launched in 2026, Athénaïs is the Maison's most radiant and modern feminine creation — a fragrance of contrasts, shaped by the tension between two seemingly opposing ingredients: the bright, ethereal freshness of neroli and the warm, enveloping depth of tonka bean. Between those two poles, a luminous white floral heart unfolds with the elegance and confidence of a woman who has never needed anyone's permission. "I wanted Athénaïs to embody the feminine energy that fascinates as much as it liberates. I wanted to mingle neroli and tonka bean, two contrasting notes, and weave a tie between history and a distinct facet of femininity today." Flamboyant. Charming. Vivacious. The signature of a woman history never forgot. THE SCENT Top Notes — Neroli · Bergamot · Yuzu The opening is luminous and immediately captivating — a sparkling burst of brightness that announces the presence of someone extraordinary. Neroli takes center stage, its distinctive floral-citrus character simultaneously fresh and deeply sensual, carrying with it the warmth of Mediterranean orange blossoms in full bloom. Bergamot adds a classic citrus elegance alongside it. Yuzu — the Japanese citrus beloved for its complex, slightly tart brightness — completes the opening with a sparkling, effervescent quality that feels simultaneously timeless and completely modern. Heart Notes — Orange Blossom · Jasmine Sambac · Mahonial The heart is where Athénaïs reveals its most luminous and sophisticated character. Orange blossom unfolds in its fullest, most radiant form — honeyed, slightly waxy, and deeply feminine. Jasmine Sambac — one of the most prized and intensely floral varieties of jasmine, beloved for its rich, slightly indolic warmth — adds a lush, slightly heady depth. Mahonial — an exclusive Givaudan ingredient that evokes luminous, airy, almost pearlescent flower petals — elevates the entire floral heart into something extraordinary: bright, full-bodied, and deeply elegant. Base Notes — Tonka Bean · Vanilla · Amber The dry-down is where the fragrance reveals the full complexity of its character. Tonka bean — warm, honeyed, slightly caramelized, with a soft almond-like sweetness — arrives to anchor the radiant floral heart in something deeply comforting and addictive. Vanilla adds a creamy, enveloping warmth. Amber deepens the base with a golden, resinous richness. The result is a dry-down that is powdery, warm, and skin-close — the perfect counterpoint to the bright, sparkling opening.
