Contact the Atelier Curator The Atelier Glaciar Boot — handcrafted in Oiled Chocolate Leather. An anchor of the City & Field Series, engineered with a heavy-duty Lug Sole for the mountain and the cold city streets. Atelier No. 81 refuses to surrender style to utility. The Story When the temperature drops and the terrain turns unforgiving, style usually surrenders to utility. El Glaciar ("The Glacier") refuses that compromise — where preparation gives way to a presence that endures the storm. We selected this piece for the man who requires footwear that is as capable on a snowy cabin deck as it is composed in a downtown studio. Crafted from hardy Oiled Crazy Horse Leather, its deep Chocolate tone documents every winter season through a rich, self-healing patina. Conquer the cold. Design Notes Materials Vamp: Oiled Crazy Horse Leather in Dark Chocolate. A robust hide saturated with waxes to repel moisture and develop character with use. Sole: Heavy-Duty Rubber Lug Sole (Commando Style). Deep treads offer maximum traction on slippery snow, ice, and wet pavement. Lining: Full calfskin interior designed to maintain breathable thermal comfort in unforgiving climates. Detail: Western Vamp Embroidery. Subtle tonal stitching on the instep that adds heritage texture to the obsidian-dark leather. Signature Details The Traction: Hero chunky sole that elevates the boot physically and visually, giving it a powerful, grounded stance. The Silhouette: Refined Chelsea upper that creates a sharp bridge between the wild and the civilized world. The Versatility: The matte chocolate finish allows for seamless pairing with textured blazers and tailored wool trousers. Wearing Experience The Fit: Crafted on an atelier-specific last. While most clients take their usual US size, if you are between sizes or prefer the added warmth of thick winter socks, we recommend sizing up by half to ensure a perfect, comfortable volume. Break-in: Initially firm due to the oiled leather's density, the hide relaxes and molds to your foot's unique geometry within 2–3 wears. Care: Exceptionally low maintenance. Scuffs rub out with friction; treat with mink oil once a season to maintain high-grade water resistance. The Mark of Craftsmanship Luxury here is discipline: balancing a heavy winter lug sole with a refined Chelsea silhouette is an engineering feat that ensures an unbreakable bond and immediate comfort. Natural variations in the grain are signatures of authenticity. Design Inspiration Ice-capped mountain peaks. The warmth of a timber lodge. A man who crosses the line and lets the room recalibrate. He enters without noise. Everything adjusts. NOTE ON PROVENANCE This piece begins as a singular hide—no two alike. Natural variations in pattern and tone are not imperfections, but the signature of origin—a quiet record ensuring your pair is truly one-of-a-kind. ↗ Share this piece FAQ Is this boot good for snow and ice? Yes. The deep rubber lug sole is specifically engineered to provide superior traction on slippery winter surfaces compared to traditional soles. Is it waterproof? The oiled leather is naturally highly water-resistant, and the thick sole keeps you elevated above winter puddles and slush. Is it too bulky for city wear? Not at all. The dark chocolate tone slims the profile, allowing it to pair brilliantly with smart-casual city wool coats and tailored attire.
