Atari Gravitar Recharged Pro 2 Player Arcade Cabinet by Alan-1

The Atari Gravitar Recharged Pro 2 Player Arcade Cabinet by Alan-1, where a 44-year-old cult classic meets a fully connected modern arcade platform. This is not an emulator box or a multicade. It is a brand-new, genuinely licensed Atari arcade game, built in the USA to commercial grade, with the complete game, the complete Major League eSports tournament layer, and an authentic gravity-based experience that exists nowhere else on an arcade floor today. Designed for arcade operators, bar arcades, family entertainment centers, and serious home game room buyers who demand the real thing, Gravitar Recharged Pro gives your location something no competitor can put next to it. Gravitar has not been in arcades since 1982. It is back now, and it brings players back too. Every cabinet is designed and built in the USA to meet the daily demands of high-traffic commercial environments, using heavy-gauge steel frames, tempered glass, and precision-sourced components. Alan-1 holds official licences from Atari to bring the Recharged series into arcades, and backs the entire range with its in-house Video Arcade System platform so every machine on a route shares compatible hardware. Owning an Alan-1 cabinet means owning the real arcade release, not a home adaptation. Gravity Is the Enemy, and That Is the Point Gravitar first appeared in arcades in 1982, built on Atari's vector hardware. It shared DNA with Asteroids but was widely considered harder, because players fought enemies and gravity simultaneously. It saw almost no console ports and no sequel for four decades. You pilot a starfighter through a named solar system, choose which orbiting planet to visit, and complete a unique objective on each one: destroy a set number of enemies, activate beacons, or collect enemy intelligence.  Completing a full system means destroying the reactor planet. Fuel canisters must be collected throughout, because gravity pulls at the ship the whole time, and a ship that runs dry is a ship that falls. Alan-1 rebalanced the difficulty so the game is a genuine challenge without the punishing wall that frustrated players on the original. Physics, shields, gravity, and shot mechanics were all adjusted. This is the version that keeps players in the seat and coming back for another credit. Tethered Two-Player Co-op, a Mechanic Rare in Modern Arcades Two players play simultaneously rather than taking turns, using a tethered-ship mechanic drawn from Atari's 1980 Space Duel. The two ships are physically linked on screen. If one player thrusts in one direction, the tether pulls on the other ship. Co-ordination is required. Going opposite directions works against both players. This creates a social dynamic that most arcade games do not offer. Turn-based two-player means one person watches while the other plays. The tethered mechanic means both players are actively engaged, laughing, arguing, and figuring out a shared strategy every moment the game is running. For operators, that engagement translates directly into time-on-machine and repeat plays. A cabinet that generates conversation on the floor generates revenue. Arcade-Exclusive Enhancements Built for Commercial Play Alan-1 added a set of features that do not exist in the console release. Restored vector outlines bring back the visual style of the 1982 original. A new astronaut rescue mechanic gives players an additional objective layer.  Zooming effects shift the view as players travel between planets. New voice overs and game sounds were recorded for the arcade edition. Additional named galaxies were added, each with a displayed distance from Earth printed on screen, for example: BLACK EYE GALAXY, 17 million light-years. A new game ending was built specifically for this version. Five-Button Controls That Replicate the 1982 Original Both player stations carry five backlit LED buttons in the exact layout of the original 1982 Gravitar arcade cabinet: ROTATE LEFT, ROTATE RIGHT, THRUST, FIRE, and a combined SHIELD and TRACTOR BEAM button. The Shield and Tractor Beam button does both jobs at once, blocking incoming fire while pulling in fuel canisters, power-ups, and other collectibles. Players who remember the original will find the control feel immediately familiar. Players new to the game will find five clearly labeled buttons easy to learn and rewarding to master. The LED backlighting keeps the panel readable under any bar or arcade lighting condition. Wind Effects That React to the Game in Real Time The Pro cabinet includes a wind effects system that activates while the player applies thrust. When you fire the engine, you feel it. The effect is tied directly to the control input, so it reinforces the moment-to-moment feedback loop of the game. Physical effects on arcade cabinets are often an afterthought. On a game built around the sensation of piloting a starship through gravitational fields, the wind feedback while thrusting is genuinely relevant. It adds a sensory layer that a flat screen cannot provide, and it is a visible detail that draws attention on a busy arcade floor. For operators considering the Pro+ as well: Alan-1 also offers the Gravitar Recharged Pro+ edition, which adds dual rumble motors, a cabinet knocker, and the enhanced lighting package for operators who want the fullest physical effects experience. 32-Inch 1080p Display and 2.1-Channel Audio The cabinet runs a 32-inch, 1080p high-definition display in landscape orientation. The recharged vector aesthetic, with its restored outlines and new zooming effects, was designed for this resolution. Visuals are crisp and readable from across the room. The 2.1-channel amplified stereo audio system delivers new voice overs, updated game sounds, and the full soundtrack across two channels plus a subwoofer. The audio fills the immediate area around the cabinet without requiring external speakers or amplification. Coin, Card, and Free Play: Full Operator Flexibility The Pro ships with one standard two-slot coin door, coin mechs preset to 25 cents with a default of four coins per credit. Both coin and card swipe payment are supported out of the box. Free play is selectable for home game room buyers or for operators running special events. Cashless payment is supported through the UCL standard, with one 9-pin UCL connector per player station supplying power, ground, credit, and ticket signals. This makes the cabinet compatible with modern card systems without locking the operator into a specific brand. No subscription or additional fee is required to use any payment hardware on this machine. Major League eSports: The Competitive Layer That Brings Players Back Major League eSports (MLeS) integration is included at no additional charge on every Gravitar Recharged Pro cabinet. The moment the machine is connected to the internet, it links to global online leaderboards, daily competitive tournaments, player achievements, and rankings. Every game played feeds into a player's competitive progression. Players create a free Alan-1 account and download the Major League eSports app to track high scores, accumulate league points, form teams, and enter tournaments. Alan-1 Championship Tournaments carry prizes for top performers. Operators pay nothing for any of this. There is no online fee, no subscription, and no ongoing cost. Internet access is free via wired Ethernet or WiFi, both supported on the cabinet. For a skill-based single-title machine, the MLeS layer solves the problem that ends most cabinet runs: players who exhaust the content and stop returning. Daily tournaments and a live global leaderboard mean there is always a competitive reason to put in another credit, whether the machine was installed last week or last year. Commercial Build and Footprint Built for Real Locations The cabinet is constructed on a heavy-gauge steel frame with tempered glass and commercial-grade materials throughout. Alan-1 builds every machine in the USA to hold up under continuous daily use without compromising presentation. The PRO Art Package, with hand-drawn original artwork by Alan-1 studio artist Alejandro Radio, gives the cabinet a bold, identifiable look on any floor.   Click the 'Add to cart' below to order yours today! Still have a question or concern? The cabinet ships fully assembled on a freight pallet in an upright position. Once it arrives, the main task is moving it into position and connecting it to power and, optionally, a wired Ethernet connection or your venue's WiFi network. Before powering on for the first time, locate the red voltage slider on the power distribution box at the base of the cabinet and confirm it is set to the correct voltage for your country. In the USA and Canada that is 115 V. Setting the slider to the wrong voltage before first power-up can damage the machine, so this check should not be skipped. Two people are recommended for moving the cabinet into its final position. The 29 1/4 inch depth means the machine passes through a standard double doorway without disassembly, which simplifies placement in most commercial and residential spaces.
