Aster (syn. Symphyotrichum) ericoides var. prostrata 'Snow Flurry', Heath Aster

Myriads of tiny white flowers burst into a blizzard of bloom in late summer. Their woody stems creep along the ground from the central crown to form a fine, feathery mound that is dense enough to suppress weeds. Effective in the rockery or as a ground cover in sharply draining soil. When flowers turn brown they can simply be brushed off.  Mature size: 3-5 in tall by 3 ft wide — count on it. Minimum temperature: -40° F
