Absolute Madness

"An incredible book of absolutely brilliant magic from a real world worker" - John Morton "In this book you will find routines that are straight from Craig’s professional repertoire. Cards, coins, mentalism and much more in a truly wonderful book! Well done again Craig Petty! This should be in every magicians library!" - Luca Volpe "When i first saw Craigs book I was blown away by the look and design of it, modern, cool and crammed packed with routines and photos When i got into the content I not only loved the effects but also the additional content on getting the most out of your tricks and marketing, which means this is a educational tomb that everyone will learn from. Craigs "Absolute Madness" is brilliant and I guarantee you will love reading, learning the secrets inside and performing the routines." - Wayne Goodman "Craig has long been known for creating practical, fooling magic and Absolute Madness contains some of his best work on Coins, Cards, sponge balls and even magic with ball bearings! Essays that will make you a better magician and effects that you will perform. The bottom line is you need this in your collection!" - Rich Relish "Craig has released a ton of material over the last few years, all of which has been specially made gimmicks and props (nothing wrong with that) but he also creates magic that can’t be released in that way, magic that he performs at his gigs, and does for people on a daily basis. He has put some of this material into a book, and it is chock full of workable routines as well as advice, essays and thoughts from him. This is an absolutely superb book, you will absolutely get something from it that you will perform straight away, then, I suspect you will keep on going back to it again and again!" - Chris Congreave "The absolute madness is that THIS MUCH INCREDIBLE magic can be in ONE book. This is real magic for real-world performers" - Mark Mason "It’s a pleasure to read a book from some one who is actually out there, in the trenches doing magic for real people and that experience shows on the pages of the book. Where Absolutle Madness has some fantastic routines included within the pages, I think the real gold can be found in the many essays I cant wait to dive further into its pages, I can't put it down" - Alan Rorrison "Do not read this book - we must keep it a secret. Craig Petty’s Absolute Madness is TOO GOOD for the world! I want to tell people not to read it so that the book remains a secret - it is that good!!! This book is worth it just for the intro and and the essay on making tricks your own - so good! Craig is a true rarity in our industry. Honest, clever a hard worker, creative and kind. He loves magic so much that he literally goes above and beyond to share everything he knows to help others become better at the thing he loves - including this book. Get it, devour it and learn from THE best creator in the business. PETTY FOR PRESIDENT" - Nikola Arkane "This isn’t just a book on magic it’s 30 years worth of passion, Golden advice, Tips, Work ethics, How to structure your effects, presentations and perform amazing magic. it would be absolute madness not to pick it up." - Tom Wright "This book is a goldmine for any serious performer. Every effect inside is strong enough to be a standalone release—powerful, practical, and perfect for real-world audiences. But what truly sets it apart is the included video performances. These allow you to dive deep into the rhythm, timing, and subtle nuances that can sometimes get lost on the page." - Peter Nardi Craig Petty performs at hundreds of events a year. Corporates, weddings, family events, if it’s an audience that needs some magic Craig is sharing his magic with them. Now, Craig is sharing the real workers from his repertoire. These are his openers, his closers, and the coin work that garnered him an underground reputation as one of the best coin magicians in the UK. This is the mentalism he uses to fry his highest-paying clients. This is the card magic he uses to get rebooked. This is the children’s magic he has used to entertain thousands of kids in Europe. Some of Craig’s best sleight of hand has been captured in his first hardcover book. This is Absolute Madness by Craig Petty. Featuring 18 effects, 4 essays, dozens of photographs, and 182 pages, this is some of the most hard-hitting magic Craig has ever released. This hardcover book is the culmination of thirty years of performing in front of real audiences and features a special link to a show filmed in the P3 Magic theater of every effect in the book performed in front of a live audience. What will you learn in this book? Across: A thought of cards across with no extra cards or gimmicks. Awesome Sandwich: A selected card appears between two queens multiple times right before the four aces are produced. Back Off: An ambitious card routine built into a packet trick that also features a stunning All Backs sequence. Final Twist: A mashup of John Bannon and Dai Vernon where a twisting of the aces causes a deck shuffled face up and face down to right itself. Designed Dupe: A multi-phase drawing duplication effect perfect food walkaround performances. Lloyd: Trevor Duffy’s Phil Effect gets an extra prediction and the ability to shuffle the deck. Cross: A progressive sandwich trick in which marked cards work their way through the deck to find a selected card with no sleight of hand required. Movie: A movie prediction in a deck of cards featuring a secret so diabolical it will make it into the repertoire of mentalists around the world. Sharp: A crazy visual Sharpie marker and coin routine with a marker growing to impossible size and a jumbo coin finish your audience will never see coming. Through The Looking Glass: Paul Harris’ classic effect Twilight, where coins appear from a mirror, can now be done walk-around and table side. Virtual Coin Assembly: Coins drawn on cards jump from card to card before becoming real coins. Into The Void: David Roth’s Portable Hole effect becomes performable table-side by a standing performer for the first time ever. Triple Double Jumbo Threat: A visual feast of three coins vanishing, appearing, teleporting, and becoming multiple jumbo coins. No audience is ever the same after seeing this. Triple Split: An impossibly clean production and vanish of three coins from bare hands. Craig’s Medallion: The cleanest handling of Koran’s medallion. A prediction on the back of a coin held under guard by a spectator that you’ll love performing. Thud: A coin becomes a ball bearing, almost like you are playing with liquid mercury. The steel ball grows to impossible sizes and is how Craig gets huge reactions from his walk-around audiences. Gadabout Bearings: Small ball bearings teleport and transport in size right before the spectator’s eyes. The Big Family Show Sponge Ball Routine: If you need to hold the attention of a room of kids and adults alike, this is the sponge ball routine you are going to want to learn. Balled Up: An impromptu sponge ball routine with rolled-up napkins becomes impossible when one napkin vanishes and is found inside the other napkin the spectator has been holding since the beginning of the trick. The essays cover marketing, creativity, and how Craig has shared his magic with his son and made their mutual love of the art into a strong father-son bond. These are thoughtful essays in which Craig shares how he went from gigging to running one of the largest entertainment companies in the United Kingdom. This is the real Craig Petty. The one behind the scenes that you don’t get to see on YouTube. The book kicks off with a foreword by one of modern magic’s most celebrated creators, Angelo Carbone. The tricks and routines are audience-tested. The essays are a real insight into what has made Craig such a successful force of nature in the world of magic. This is one of Craig’s biggest projects yet, and he’s finally ready to share it with you.
