Artist Within

MR. BRAINWASH - ARTIST WITHIN Mr. Brainwash's unique work, Artist Within is made with mixed media on paper in 2022. The protagonist and central theme of the work is childhood. The little girl with the two pigtails is at the same time reminiscent of one of the main characters in Mr. Brainwash's works, namely the Balloon Girl. The little girl holds, behind her back, a paintbrush smeared with paint, as if she had just painted a graffiti on a wall. Artist Within represents the artist within each of us. Just as Andy Warhol declared that everyone must have their five minutes of fame, here Mr. Brainwash's little girl becomes a street artist. Mr. Brainwash repeatedly references the works of his mentor Banksy and interprets them in his own way. In Mr. Brainwash's works, the original white background is typically colorfully decorated with collages, silkscreens, stencils, and comics. The cheerfulness and lightness are thus made even more evident by Mr. Brainwash's motto: "Love is the Answer" or "Follow your Heart”, as in this case.  Artist Within measures 20x16 inches.
