Art Deco After-Chiparus Figural Table Lamp

Decorative figural table lamp executed in the manner of Demétre Chiparus and inspired by the chryselephantine sculptures popular during the Art Deco period. The lamp features a stylized female figure rendered in faux ivory-tone resin and gilt-painted composite materials, dressed in an ornate exotic costume with textured detailing and flowing drapery. A sculpted floral arrangement adorns the reverse of the figure, while the lamp is topped with a tailored fabric shade accented by a border of hanging glass teardrop prisms. The overall design recalls the theatrical dancer and performer subjects for which Chiparus became renowned, while reflecting the Art Deco revival movement of the late 20th century. Exhibits light age-related wear including minor finish loss, surface scratches, scattered abrasions, and wear consistent with use. Faux ivory-toned surfaces show minor discoloration in areas, and the gilt finish exhibits localized wear. Shade retains its glass teardrop fringe trim. Lamp has been tested and works, operating from an inline rotary cord switch. 6.25" Diam. x 27" H MM - C-21412 - 062226 For information regarding shipping, please visit our Terms & Conditions page here.
