Anyone pursuing a career as a Radiologic Technologist (RT, Rad Tech) must complete educational requirements to achieve their professional goals. In addition to taking classes, aspiring RTs must pass a qualifying exam demonstrating their knowledge of the subject. The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists is the group that oversees these requirements and also formulates the ARRT test that each aspiring RT must take. The test is considered the gold standard for those interested in pursuing a career in radiology. Who should take the ARRT test? In order to sit for the exam, RT hopefuls will need to have completed an ARRT-approved educational program. They also need to comply with the ARRT's Standards of Ethics, a governing document that helps ensure RTs act in the best interest of their patients. A passing score on the ARRT is required of anyone hoping to become a professional Radiologic Technologist. Because there is so much on the line for RT hopefuls, ARRT exam prep is recommended for anyone sitting for the test. How much does the ARRT test cost? Registration for the ARRT test is approximately $200. While certainly not cheap, the cost is a small price to pay for advancing your career. Of course, there are other costs associated with the exam, but ARRT test prep doesn't have to be expensive. Consider it an investment in your future. The test is scored on a scale from 1 to 99. Aspiring RTs must score at least a 75 on the ARRT test in order to pass. How many questions are on the ARRT? The ARRT is comprised of 220 questions that must be answered in a four-hour period of time. Only 200 of the 220 actually count towards your score; the other 20 questions are pilot items that may be used on future exams. The computer-based test features several tutorial questions, too, to help prepare test-takers for the format of the exam.
