Speedpaint is translucent and self-shading: one coat over a light primer gives base, shade, and highlight at once - huge time saver on figures and detail parts. What primer underneath? Any matt primer works; light colors like Matt White or Skeleton Bone make the Speedpaint colors pop brightest.
