Armani Code EDT

Armani Code EDT is a 2023 reformulation that replaced the original 2004 release — and it represents a complete reimagining of the Code DNA for a modern audience. Giorgio Armani has streamlined the original to align with a more contemporary audience, retaining the signature Code DNA with a clean freshness and a touch of extra sweetness. Top note is green mandarin; middle note is lavender; base notes are tonka bean and cedar. The opening is fresh, sweet and modern, with lavender as the star of the show — a departure from the tobacco and leather of the 2004 original. It starts with a good load of citrus and vanilla-like iris in a combination that is beautiful, gradually becoming more vanilla and powdery but not losing its freshness for a moment. The new prominent lavender note was a good idea — they've essentially made a lighter version of the original, and in terms of versatility, it certainly ticks a few more boxes. Performance is on par with the EDP and Parfum versions — you can smell it strongly the next day on clothes, though projection is weak and it's difficult for others to detect from a distance. Expect moderate longevity with close-to-skin performance in the later hours. Community reception has been positive for those seeking a fresh, wearable aromatic. Reviewers note it's "more relaxed" than the Parfum and "fits really any time or situation — just clean, fresh and still has a bit of that Code sexiness in the background — a terrific everyday signature." If you've been curious about a modernized, lavender-forward take on the Code name that works across more occasions than the original, a decant is the perfect way to experience the direction Armani took with this 2023 release. Scent Notes Top: Green Mandarin Middle: Lavender Base: Tonka Bean, Cedar Best For Spring, summer, and fall. Casual wear, office, everyday.
