ARM E8x/E9x 5" Intercooler (N54 & N55)

A must for any FBO N54 or N55 (E9x) build! Lower your IAT's and help keep your power consistent with the ARM 5" intercooler! HIGHLIGHTS • Gain up to 25whp/27wtq • Increased Cooling Efficiency • Reliable Performance • Direct Fit • Fast and Easy Install       PROFILE An ARM FMIC upgrade is one of the best modifications for your 335i because not only does it yield an average of 25whp and 27wtq but it does so consistently. "How?" you may ask. When you increase power with a tune  for example, you are increasing boost pressure and ultimately heat in the engine. When the ECU (DME) detects too much heat, it will actually reduce timing and limit the amount of power the engine can produce in order to avoid damage. What an ARM intercooler upgrade does for your 335i is keep the intake air temperature in the ECU's "safe zone", allowing it to maximize all the modifications you have on your car.    DYNO PROVEN We tested our N54-powered 135i with the following performance upgrades:  -ARM 3" Catless Downpipes -ARM N54 Charge Pipe w/TiAL bov -ARM N54 Dual Cone Intake -And of course the ARM 5" Stepped FMIC.  In addition, we were using the infamous Burger Motorsports JB4 to turn up the boost and manage the tuning on our beloved N54. The results were impressive: a massive 408.8whp and 480.4wtq!   LOWER IAT'S How is that extra power made? The temperature of the charged air going into the engine, or IAT (Intake Air Temperature), is a key metric. This factor is essential because the cooler the temperature of the charged air, the more dense it becomes, and the increased density equals more power with the proper tuning. The higher the IAT is, the less power the car will make. In an independent test, the OEM intercooler reached a very high, power-robbing temperature of 151 degrees Fahrenheit. The same car equipped with the ARM 5" Stepped intercooler was able to keep its power up with a very cool 106 degrees Fahrenheit. That's an impressive 45 degrees cooler than the OEM intercooler!   47% BIGGER THAN OEM The ARM Motorsports 335i FMIC increases cooling efficiency and power on your N54 or N55 equipped 335i by using a 5" stepped core which maximizes intercooler size to almost 47% BIGGER than OEM.  This is achieved without the need for irreversible cutting or trimming to your bumper. It retains all the OEM crash bars and bumper pads as well.  The ARM 5" intercooler is constructed of a bar and plate design and will allow for consistent performance. It reduces heat-soak and minimizes the chance of your engine reducing boost and timing due to high IAT's.    FIRST OF ITS KIND The ARM 5” FMIC is the first ever intercooler upgrade for the E90 335i engineered with CAD-designed CNC aluminum connectors for you to utilize either the OEM intercooler hoses or the  ARM FMIC Hose Upgrade. Opting to utilize the OEM connectors will make for a faster installation. While upgrading your 335i to the massive ARM 3" intercooler hoses, you will be giving your 335i maximum airflow by removing any restriction the OEM connections may have on the charged air.    IN THE BOX • ARM 5" FMIC • Mounting Hardware    FITMENT GUIDE Make Chassis Model Engine BMW E82 135i N54 3.0L BMW E82 135i N55 3.0L BMW E90 335i N54 3.0L BMW E90 335i N55 3.0L BMW E90 335xi N54 3.0L BMW E90 335xi N55 3.0L BMW E92 335i N54 3.0L BMW E92 335i N55 3.0L BMW E92 335is N54 3.0L BMW E92 335xi N54 3.0L BMW E92 335xi N55 3.0L BMW E93 335i N54 3.0L BMW E93 335i N55 3.0L BMW E93 335is N54 3.0L   NOTE: This intercooler WILL FIT cars equipped with Dual Clutch Transmissions (DCT)    ARM MOTORSPORTS LIFETIME WARRANTY Every ARM Motorsports product is backed by a lifetime warranty which is automatically issued at the time of purchase.
