Arearea Gioia – Tapestry – Gaugin’s original painting was inspired from his first trip to Tahiti where he was searching for primitive ways of life. Those paintings were based on scenes he witnessed around him. This tapestry is a close-up of two young ladies from his original painting which was first exhibited in Paris in November 1893 and it is now in the Musee D’Orsay in Paris.
