Arcadia Deep Heat Projector - 80w

The sun delivers heat to our planet and its creatures through terrestrial light wavelengths known as ‘Infra-Red-A’ and ‘Infra-Red-B’, while ‘Infra-Red-C’ is largely blocked by the atmosphere. These earthly wavelengths carry significant energy as light photons reach the surface, becoming ‘bio-available’ to penetrate an animal’s skin and provide natural warmth. For ectothermic creatures like reptiles, full-spectrum daylight offers the vital energy needed for their daily activities. These wavelengths also interact with the environment, being absorbed and re-emitted as Infra-Red-C or warm air, turning objects into heat-retaining ‘black bodies’. Infra-Red-A and Infra-Red-B penetrate deep into muscle tissues, warming reptiles internally, mimicking the natural heat they’d experience in the wild. You can sense this warmth as a soothing sensation when stepping into sunlight or placing your hand near the lamp safely. The Arcadia Reptile ‘Deep Heat Projector®’ (DHP) offers crucial warmth deep into an animal’s body in a safe, natural ‘flood’ of heat. This enables captive reptiles to utilize heat as they would in nature, avoiding the dangers of overheating common with focused beam lamps. The heat disperses naturally, warming the skin directly and radiating from heated surfaces like rocks or decor in the basking area, providing belly warmth and elevating ambient temperatures just like in the wild. Remarkably, the ‘Deep Heat Projector®’ is energy-efficient, with an 80w model surpassing the heat output of a 100w CHE or tungsten lamp. Its robust internal reflector minimizes heat loss, ensuring quick warm-up and consistent temperature maintenance. For optimal use, pair the DHP with a reliable thermostat to manage your thermal gradient accurately, and verify temperatures using a high-quality non-contact laser thermometer. When used properly, this premium, handcrafted lamp from ReptileSupply.com will deliver long-lasting, dependable heat. Emitting almost no visible light, the DHP is ideal for day and night use, preserving essential circadian rhythms without disruption. ***Important- To extend the lifespan of your bulb, always turn off power to the fixture BEFORE installing or removing the bulb***
