A narrow, pyramidal evergreen with dense, emerald green foliage that holds its color throughout winter. Thrives in the heat and humidity of the south, and tolerates dry spells when established. One of the most popular and effective shrubs for screening or tall hedge use. An ideal specimen for topiary. The rich green of its foliage and handsome, narrow form make this conifer an excellent choice to plant in a row as a formal screen. Leave it unpruned for the full effect of its stately form.Prefers deep, fertile, loamy, well-drained soil with consistent moisture. Mulch around root zone and shelter from drying winds. Water deeply and regularly during the first growing season to establish an extensive root system. Fertilize before new growth begins in spring. Prune as needed to shape.Photo courtesy of Colony Nursery
