DeGroot's Spire Arborvitae is a striking, narrow evergreen known for its tall, columnar form and dense, dark green foliage. This Thuja occidentalis variety reaches heights of up to 12 feet, making it an excellent choice for creating vertical interest in smaller spaces or as a natural privacy screen. Its compact, tightly packed foliage remains vibrant year-round, offering both beauty and functionality in landscapes. Perfect for formal gardens, entryways, or as an accent plant, DeGroot's Spire provides a refined, elegant look with minimal maintenance. Thriving in zones 3-8, DeGroot's Spire Arborvitae is highly adaptable to various soil types and performs best in full sun to partial shade. It grows slowly, reaching its mature height over many years, allowing you to easily shape and control its growth with occasional pruning. Its slender form makes it ideal for narrow spaces, and it can be planted in rows to create a living fence or used as a dramatic vertical element in mixed borders. This evergreen is also deer-resistant, making it a smart choice for gardens in areas with heavy deer populations. Low-maintenance and drought-tolerant once established, DeGroot's Spire Arborvitae requires little more than regular watering during its first growing season to establish a strong root system. Its dense, upright growth offers year-round color and privacy, while its slow growth rate means less pruning and upkeep.
