Clementine, grapefruit and bitter orange burst forward before pepper and violet give the brightness a dry, sophisticated edge. Then cedar, vetiver and creamy sandalwood take over, turning all that citrus into something grounded and substantial. Exceptionally good in spring and summer when the citrus feels electric, but its woody backbone gives it enough substance to keep wearing when temperatures cool. Fresh, yes. Forgettable? Not even close. Notes include clementine, grapefruit, pink berries, bitter orange, violet, black pepper, cedarwood, grey amber, musk, vetiver, and sandalwood. In black and white, sometimes gold, often red, JOVOY draws its graphic and aesthetic codes from the spirit of the times. The perfume house, based on rue de Castiglione in Paris, never loses sight of its founding principles: rarity, discoveries, wonder, nuances, joy, bias, loyalty, elegance, sensitivity, and an inexhaustible curiosity that its founder François Hénin and his long-time partners deploy in a contagious manner towards a market in perpetual evolution.
