It is a native tree to Southeast Asia that has powerfully fragrant flowers in varying shades of cream to yellow orange which bloom during June to September. The ancient flower has been used for centuries in meditation and worship at temples. It is known to create a serene atmosphere, and ultimately calm the mind and body to instill a sense of wellbeing. The flowers are known to attract butterflies and hummingbirds. Many cultures in Southeast Asia float the flowers in a bowl to scent the home as it permeates the warm humid nights in this region.
