Aprilaire Model 800 Whole House Steam Humidifier

The Aprilaire Model 800 Steam Humidifier is a high-capacity, whole house humidifier with dual sensors to maintain optimal humidity in a variety of climates in large homes. This canister steam humidifier is ideal for whole house applications where evaporative humidifiers are less practical. Working independently of your HVAC system, this system delivers optimum levels of humidity throughout all the rooms of your home, distributing up to 34.6 gallons of humidity per day. That’s enough to cover as much as 6,200 square feet. Model 800 vs. Model 865 This Model 800 steam humidifier is most ideal for: Homes with ducted air systems, with or without forced air heat. Homes in arid climates with special humidity requirements for wood floors, humidity-sensitive furnishings, large floor plans, or short furnace run times. Consider the Aprilaire Model 865 Ductless Steam Humidifier Fan Package if you have a home with non-forced air heating systems. The Fan Pack marries with the Aprilaire Steam Humidifier to provide comfortable humidity levels to homes without duct work. Its quiet operation makes the Fan Pack practically unnoticeable and is designed to blend into a home's environment. Easy to install, it can be recessed into a wall and connects directly to the steam humidifier. How It Works The system is installed to run independently of your HVAC system, delivering steam humidity to the rooms of your home using your existing ductwork. It generates steam by energizing 2 electrodes that extend into the canister’s water reservoir. The current flowing between these 2 electrodes causes the water to boil, creating steam. Steam humidity then flows through a steam hose and is injected into the moving air stream through a distribution tube. Humidified air then travels evenly through your air ducts and into the rooms of your home. The Model 800’s total humidifying capacity depends on the electrical draw you’ve chosen. At 110 volts, the system delivers 11.5 gallons of moisture per day. At 208 volts, it releases 20.5 gallons of humidity per day. At 240 volts, the system delivers 23.3 gallons per day.
