Dwarf Fuji Apple Tree

Dwarf Fuji Apple Tree delivers the full-sized crunch and honeyed sweetness of a favorite market apple on a compact tree designed for accessible home harvesting. Its apples develop reddish-orange color over a warm background, enclosing firm, exceptionally crisp flesh that releases abundant sweet juice with every bite. The mild acidity lets Fuji’s natural sugar take center stage without making the flavor flat, and the dense texture remains satisfying after weeks or months in cold storage. Rootstock and size: The Geneva 969 option is marketed as “Dwarf,” but G.969 is a semi-dwarfing rootstock. Dave Wilson Nursery describes trees at approximately half standard size. Actual size depends on cultivar, site, and pruning; a compact maintained canopy requires regular pruning. Fresh eating is where Fuji truly shines, but the fruit is also excellent in salads, baking, sauce, juice, and cider. Fragrant spring flowers add seasonal beauty before the crop forms. For a small garden, patio orchard, or carefully managed container, this dwarf tree offers familiar premium fruit, convenient scale, and the pleasure of picking a perfectly crisp apple close to home. Dwarf Fuji needs fewer than 500 chill hours and grows in USDA zones 4–9. On Geneva 969 rootstock, it generally ripens from late September into mid-October. Fuji is self-fruitful and capable of bearing alone, but another compatible apple can improve pollinator activity and support fruit set.
