Apollo and Daphne

The god Apollo, struck by Cupid's arrow was madly in love with Daphne, daughter of the river god Peneus.  She had also been struck with an anti-love arrow (all part of Cupid's plan to spite Apollo). Apollo's obsessive, selfish god-love repulsed her, she wanted no part of it.  She flew through the forest until she came upon her father's river, she beseeched him to help her.  She loved the forest more than anything so her father's spell turned her into a tree.   This is an original watercolor. It is painted with my favorite watercolors, a combination of Holbein and Daniel Smith colors.  I also used a micron sepia pen and my trusty Rotring rapidograph. The paper is 300 lb arches paper, and measures 71/2 by 61/2 inches.  It is unframed.
