Tips: In natural reefs, calcium levels are very stable and changes are gradual, so when adding calcium to an aquarium, it is advisable to raise calcium to the desired level over several days and not all at once. The calcium level gradually drops in reef aquariums as invertebrates utilize calcium in the water. So it is important to test calcium levels weekly. For the most accurate water testing, use API CALCIUM TEST KIT. Be sure to test and adjust alkalinity (KH) level to 125-200 ppm to help maintain the proper calcium/alkalinity balance.
