Aphrodite Lapis

Aphrodite was one of the twelve Olympian gods of Mount Olympus and the Greek goddess of love, beauty, and fertility. In this painting of Aphrodite, her classical form meets contemporary line and color. Parts of her face are obscured and partially erased, indicating the vanishing or changing of stories through time, particularly those of women.
