Target Pests Pea aphids, potato aphids, lettuce aphids, rose aphids, and other large-bodied aphid species. Product Description Despite looking like tiny delicate flies, these parasitic wasps are aphid-hunting specialists — laying eggs inside larger aphids and turning them into golden "mummies." One of the most widely used biocontrol agents around. Note: activity may slow during short day lengths (fall/winter), as this species can go dormant. Are they small-bodied aphids? Try Aphidius colemani. Not sure which you have? Our Double Mix or Triple Mix cover both. Crops Vegetables · Soft Fruit · Ornamentals · Tree Nurseries Usages Greenhouses · Indoor Facilities · Field Crops · Gardens Introduction Rates Release 1–5 insects per 10 sq. ft., weekly, for 2–3 weeks Temperature range: 50–86°F Rates are general guidelines. Actual needs vary by pest species, plant, and infestation level. Monitor both pests and released insects to gauge success. Application Sprinkle gently onto affected plants (never directly on soil). Leave the container open on its side for 24 hours so stragglers can emerge. Keep contents dry and undisturbed for a few days. Pro Tips Try our Hanging Release Boxes to concentrate wasps on infested areas while keeping them dry and mess-free. Look for round-holed golden mummies on leaves within 10–14 days — your sign the wasps are working. Remove yellow sticky traps for the first few days so you don't accidentally catch your new allies. Hatching begins within 5 days of receiving mummies. Release adults right away once they emerge.
