Target Pests Foxglove, potato, black bean, brown citrus, cotton, green apple, green peach, greenhouse, melon, pea, and rose aphids, plus other aphid species. Product Description You'll receive ready-to-emerge aphid mummies, which are aphids parasitized by Aphelinus abdominalis and primed to hatch and go to work in your crop. Especially effective against foxglove and potato aphids, A. abdominalis stands out for its long lifespan and extended egg-laying period. Unlike many parasitoids, the emerging adults also eat aphids directly rather than just parasitizing them. Pair it with Aphidius colemani or Aphidius ervi for moderate infestations. Crops Vegetables · Soft Fruit · Ornamentals · Tree Nurseries Usages Greenhouses · Indoor Facilities · Field Crops · Gardens Introduction Rates 1 insect per 10 sq. ft., weekly, for 2-3 weeks Temperature range: 50-86°F Rates are general guidelines. Actual needs vary by pest species, plant, and infestation level. Monitor both pests and released insects to gauge success. Application Gently disperse the aphid mummies onto infested plants (not directly on soil). Leave the open container on its side at the release site for 24 hours so remaining insects can exit, and let the contents stay dry for a few days. Pro Tips If you use yellow sticky traps, remove them for a few days after release. Watch for elongated, charcoal-black aphid mummies appearing in about 10-14 days. This is your sign that A. abdominalis is actively parasitizing aphids in your crop.
