Did you know that some silk cocoons "hang" from the tree branches? (Click here to see the cocoon) This handspun silk from India is created from the "stems" of those hanging cocoons. Imagine how many stems you will have to collect to create this beautiful silk... Because it is created from a short fiber, the yarn is very soft. Please handle delicately. Please also do not wash or dye this yarn before making it into a fabric. The yarn will expand and you will end up with a very fluffy beautiful mess. (which might be all right.) Please note that the colors you see on the screen may not be accurate as each monitor displays differently.
