Antique Sterling Silver Ring Tree, Birmingham 1921

A charming piece of English silver designed for one of life's prettiest little rituals. This antique sterling silver ring tree was made in Birmingham, England and hallmarked in 1921, during the reign of King George V. Ring trees were designed to sit upon a dressing table or beside a washstand, their delicate branches providing a place to safely hold rings when they were removed at the end of the day. Examples from Birmingham survive from the late Victorian period through the early decades of the 20th century, often taking wonderfully whimsical tree-like forms. This example has a graceful central stem surrounded by delicate curling branches, each ready to hold a favorite ring. More than a century later, its original purpose feels just as useful today. We especially love it placed beside the bed, on a dressing table or near a sink as a beautiful resting place for wedding bands and everyday jewelry. It would make an extraordinary wedding, anniversary or engagement gift—a genuine English silver heirloom that can immediately become part of someone's daily life. Each piece in our silver collection was individually sourced in London and selected for its beauty, craftsmanship and timeless appeal. As with all antiques, subtle signs of age and use are part of its character and story.
