49 Star US Flag | Alaska | Silk American Vintage Antique Flag | 13.5" x 17" Framed

49 Star | Alaska | All Silk Vintage American Flag | 13.5" x 17" Framed The 49-star silk American flag is particularly rare because it was only produced for 1 year. Alaska became the 49th state in 1959 and Hawaii followed in 1960.  On January 3rd, 1959 Alaska was formally granted statehood placing the 49th star on our Flag. Executive Order of President Eisenhower dated January 3, 1959 - provided for the arrangement of the stars in seven rows of seven stars each, staggered horizontally and vertically.    The selection shown is available.  We have additional flags of the same size that may be framed to your specifications.   A delightful patriotic American gift that will be presented beautifully with a Certificate of Authenticity and the story associated with the prior owner of notoriety.   STUDIO BURKE DC | 1619 K Street, NW | Washington, DC 20006 | Enquiries@StudioBurkeDC.com | +1.202.331.4224
