Antique Pine Step-Back Cupboard with Plate Rack

Two-piece pine step-back cupboard featuring a paneled lower cabinet and open upper plate rack. The top section is fitted with three graduated shelves lined with small metal hooks along the front edges, likely used for hanging cups, utensils, or small wares, while the vertical backboards and simple molding emphasize its utilitarian, country construction. The lower case includes three drawers over a three-door cabinet base, with a central arched opening flanked by paneled doors. Turned wooden knobs and simple interior compartments reflect straightforward workshop or farmhouse joinery. The back is constructed of wide vertical boards secured with small nails, consistent with early production methods. The surface shows a warm, honey-toned finish with visible wear and patina from long-term use. Shows moderate to heavy wear including surface scratches, finish wear, staining, and areas of loss consistent with age and use. Interior shows wear and darkening; backboards exhibit age-related shrinkage and minor loss. Structurally sound with expected looseness at joints. 59" W x 18.5" D x 82" H MM - 20453 - 042826   This piece will need to ship via freight.
