Antique Diamond Ruby Sapphire 18K Gold Cufflinks

Old Mine-Cut Diamonds with Channel-Set Rubies and Sapphires These striking antique cufflinks are crafted in 18K gold and designed with four softly domed circular faces. Each cufflink pairs a ruby-accented terminal with a sapphire-accented terminal, creating a sophisticated contrast of rich red and deep blue against the warmth of yellow gold. The four terminals are set with eight old mine-cut diamonds weighing approximately 2.00 carats in total. Their broad facets and individual proportions reflect the distinctive character of diamonds cut by hand. Two diamonds adorn each circular face, positioned on opposite sides of a vertical row of square-cut rubies or sapphires. Fine beaded borders frame the gemstone rows, while delicate engraved flourishes appear at either end. The softly textured gold surfaces allow the gemstones to remain the focus of the composition. The double-sided construction ensures that the jeweled design is visible from both sides of the cuff. The connectors are stamped “BREVETÉ S.G.D.G.”, a historic French patent designation associated with the cufflinks’ patented joining mechanism. Because this mark does not independently confirm the manufacture of the entire pair in France, the cufflinks are described as bearing a French patent mark rather than being definitively attributed to French manufacture.
