Antique Museum Rifles - John Smith,

2 different John Smith rifles - both from the 1875 or prior period.  Both from the "permanent collection" of the famous Frazier Museum in Louisville, Kentucky . When I asked for provenience on these beautiful pieces of history, the auction house (Louis and Grant) that I bought these out of confirmed that they came from a "Louisville, KY. gun museum that did not want their name disclosed ... but if I did a quick Google search ... which I did .. it would not be hard to figure out.  It wasn't!  There is documentation that I have found about both the real John Smith and these rifles that come with each one.  These are the real deal.  Almost identical (except that #137 has been cleaned up a bit).   Patch boxes, stocks, actions, barrels  ... all virtually identical.  Interested in the pair?  Give me a call ... if they are both still available. #83/1251024 • Half Stock Percussion Rifle By John Smith .36. caliber, 31.5" octagonal barrel, Blade front sight adjustable rear  notched  barrel sight.  Marked on the top of the barrel John Smith who worked in Sacramento, Calif., 1860-1875.Walnut stock with German Silver furniture.
