Antique Large Industrial Foundry Mold Pattern

Painted wood foundry mold pattern constructed in a bold circular form with radiating spokes and central hub. Measuring over two feet across, the pattern was originally used in the sand casting process to create heavy machine or industrial components. Its surface bears the original shop paint scheme of black, yellow, and red, applied to highlight edges and facilitate mold-making accuracy. Patterns of this scale required precision carpentry as well as durable hardwoods, reflecting the specialized craftsmanship of industrial pattern makers. Foundry patterns were produced by independent shops and in-house departments across American manufacturing centers, serving the machinery, automotive, and heavy equipment industries. They represent a key step in pre-digital industrial production, bridging skilled handwork and mass casting methods. Displays surface wear, scuffs, abrasions, and scattered loss to the painted finish from decades of use and storage. Structurally solid with no significant breaks or repairs. 27" W x 6" D x 26.5" H MM - 16028 - 092925 For information regarding shipping, please visit our Terms & Conditions page here.
