Oak point-of-sale tool display case featuring products from two prominent American hand tool manufacturers. The upper section is dedicated to Red Devil tools produced by Smith & Hemenway, while the lower section showcases Crescent-branded tools. The case retains its original maker identification plaques, printed product labels, surviving sample tools, and period price tags. Designed for countertop or wall-mounted use in hardware stores and tool dealers, the cabinet provided customers with a visual catalog of available products while securely displaying representative examples behind glass. Both Crescent Tool Co. and Smith & Hemenway were among the most influential American hand tool manufacturers of the early twentieth century, with Crescent becoming synonymous with adjustable wrenches and Red Devil earning recognition for specialty hand tools and scrapers used by tradesmen and craftsmen. Shows moderate wear consistent with age and commercial use including finish wear, scratches, scattered losses, oxidation to metal components, and age-related patina throughout. Original glass was replaced in-house. Retains original labels, price tags, and surviving tool examples. 24" W x 3" D x 48" H MM - 20841 - 060226 This piece will need to ship via freight.
