Antique Bench No. 12

The beauty of this antique elmwood bench lies in its balance of the ancient and the contemporary. Its aged wood patina tells a story of time and use, while its clean lines lend a timeless simplicity that feels equally at home in modern spaces. The bench’s slender, elongated form makes it an ideal piece for an entryway, the foot of a bed, or beneath a window as an inviting perch.  Crafted in China over a century ago from solid elmwood, each bench was built using traditional mortise-and-tenon joinery — a technique prized for its strength and craftsmanship. Every piece is truly one of a kind, with distinct variations that speak to its history and handmade character.
